Gregory Kono brings over 10 years of health care experience to his role as the `Ohana director of compliance and regulatory affairs. In this position, Mr. Kono manages new Medicaid market initiatives and provides oversight and leadership for government relations, state regulatory affairs and community outreach.
Prior to joining `Ohana, Mr. Kono worked for Inland Empire Health Plan, a not-for-profit HMO in San Bernardino, CA that provides health care to Medicaid, Medicare and Healthy Families beneficiaries in the two largest counties in California - Riverside and San Bernardino. He has held positions as a compliance analyst and succeeded to senior compliance manager. His work experience also includes service for a cardiology medical group in Southern California and as an administrative intern at both the Jerry L. Pettis Memorial VA Medical Center and Loma Linda University Health Care.
Mr. Kono was born and raised on Oahu. He is an alumnus of the Hawaiian Mission Academy in Honolulu. He received his Bachelor of Business Administration and Master of Health Care Administration from Loma Linda University.
