Erhardt Hsiao-Lin Preitauer

As the region president, Erhardt Hsiao-Lin Preitauer brings to 'Ohana several years of executive-level managed care experience. In his current role, Mr. Preitauer is the senior leader of the Hawai'i-based health plan that serves the aged, blind or disabled Medicaid populations. He provides leadership and development support for the plan's operations, processes and network relationships to serve members through the state's QUEST Expanded Access program. 

Mr. Preitauer is a native of Kaua'i and an alumnus of Kapa'a High School. He received a bachelor's degree from the University of Nevada and has earned his Master of Business Administration degree from Pennsylvania State University.

"Returning to the islands is an incredible opportunity for my wife and me. I am especially excited to be able to bring my variety of experience back to Hawai`i. My years of practice in Kaua`i and O`ahu provide me with the cultural perspectives of Hawai`i that are so important. Like many people, this is also personal for me as I have family who are aged and disabled."

Dr. James Tan brings 32 years of medical experience and over 14 years of senior medical director experience to his role as the `Ohana senior medical director. In this position, Dr. Tan assumes responsibility for the performance of `Ohana's health services and pharmacy operations. He oversees all quality management, care management, health and wellness, and is responsible for network contracting strategy. 

Dr. Tan received his Bachelor of Arts, Master of Public Health and Doctorate of Medicine degrees from Loma Linda University. He also holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Redlands and is licensed to practice medicine in the states of Hawai`i, California, New York and South Carolina. He is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians and American College of Physician Executives. In addition, for the past 14 years, Dr. Tan has been a physician surveyor for the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) and serves on the Review Oversight Committee.

Carolyn Saiki

"I am delighted to work for a company whose mission is to care for those in our community who most need our support.  I was born and raised in Hawai`i.  Hawai`i is important to me.  It is home.  Our members and our work give me daily inspiration.  This is more than a great company; it is a way for me to give back some of what this community gave me."

Carolyn Saiki brings over 19 years of human resources experience to her role as the `Ohana Director of Human Resources. In this position, Ms. Saiki provides human resources leadership to support and facilitate associate recruiting, retention and development. She also provides guidance and motivation to help staff achieve organizational goals.

Ms. Saiki is a lifetime resident of Hawai`i. She received a bachelor's degree in communications from the University of Hawai`i at Manoa and a Master of Business Administration in Global Management from the University of Phoenix in Honolulu. She is also a member of the Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM) at both state and national levels.

Gregory Kono

"The one thing that makes Hawai`i so beautiful is the people.  Being part of `Ohana Health Plan is my opportunity to give back to the people who have given so much to me."

Gregory Kono brings over 10 years of health care experience to his role as the `Ohana director of compliance and regulatory affairs. In this position, Mr. Kono manages new Medicaid market initiatives and provides oversight and leadership for government relations, state regulatory affairs and community outreach. 

Prior to joining `Ohana, Mr. Kono worked for Inland Empire Health Plan, a not-for-profit HMO in San Bernardino, CA that provides health care to Medicaid, Medicare and Healthy Families beneficiaries in the two largest counties in California - Riverside and San Bernardino. He has held positions as a compliance analyst and succeeded to senior compliance manager. His work experience also includes service for a cardiology medical group in Southern California and as an administrative intern at both the Jerry L. Pettis Memorial VA Medical Center and Loma Linda University Health Care.

Mr. Kono was born and raised on Oahu. He is an alumnus of the Hawaiian Mission Academy in Honolulu. He received his Bachelor of Business Administration and Master of Health Care Administration from Loma Linda University.

Ka'ili "Avis" Honbo

"I've been so blessed growing up in Hawai`i. This opportunity allows me to expand professionally and give back to the kupuna who are most in need."

Ka'ili Honbo brings over 15 years of insurance industry experience to her role as the `Ohana Senior Medicare Sales Manager. In this position, Ms. Honbo is responsible for driving Medicare sales, marketing and business development activities in Hawai`i. She is involved in the planning and implementation of marketing strategies to secure new business and acts as an `Ohana liaison for new and existing clients as well as for service providers and corporate partners. Ms. Honbo oversees the organization's sales structure and is focused on member and provider services as well as community awareness of `Ohana product and service offerings throughout Hawai`i.

Born and raised in Hawai`i, Ms. Honbo holds a bachelor's degree from Hawai`i Pacific University where she majored in business administration, with an emphasis in corporate communications.

Viarida "Rida" Ching

"As the mom of a child with special needs, service to those who are disabled is very personal to me. Also, as we are all aging, we must recognize the increased demands for care. At the same time, we must maintain respect for and sensitivity to our local cultures while building relationships within all segments of all communities, on every island."

Rida Ching brings over 20 years of management experience in medical social services to her role as the `Ohana manager of service coordination. In this position, Ms. Ching assumes responsibility for coordination of member services and provides oversight and leadership for the `Ohana team assigned to help members with plan management.  

Ms. Ching is a lifetime resident of Hawai`i and an alumna of Moanalua High School. She received a bachelor's in psychology from the University of Hawai`i, West Oahu Campus and a master's with a social work health concentration from the University of Hawai`i at Manoa. She also earned a Master of Business Administration/Health Care Management degree from the University of Phoenix in Honolulu. Ms. Ching is affiliated with the American Case Management Association, the Hawai`i chapter of the National Association of Social Workers and the Society of Social Work Leadership in Healthcare. She has also been active in several community programs including the Hawai`i chapter of the Autism Society of America, the Developmental Disabilities Division of Hawai`i, the Special Olympics of Hawai`i and the Hawai`i Alliance of Non-Profit Organizations.

Anne M. Chipchase, MA, CVM

"This position allows me to take all of my marketing, promotional and community organizational skills and combine them with the work of friends and organizations throughout the community to promote a better quality of life for our senior and disabled members."

As the head of Community Outreach, Anne Chipchase brings over 30 years of experience in communications and community relations to `Ohana. In her current role, Ms. Chipchase oversees marketing, promotional initiatives and community programs to promote company relations that help enhance the quality of life for the senior and disabled Medicaid population of Hawai`i. 

Ms. Chipchase is a lifetime resident of Hawai`i and alumna of Punahou School of Honolulu. She received her bachelor's degree from Hawai`i Pacific University and Master of Asian Studies from the University of Hawai`i at Manoa. Ms. Chipchase is certified in Volunteer Management and serves as the president of the Volunteer Resource Center of Hawai`i. She is also the president of the Palolo Lions Club of Honolulu which serves the Palolo Valley community.

Wendy Morriarty
Market Director, `Ohana Health Plan

"As the primary caregiver to my disabled mother, the 'Ohana model is very personal to me.  The health care system can be extremely difficult to navigate. The 'Ohana health plan will support the member and their caregivers through our system of service coordination.  This system integrates medical, behavioral and social needs of our membership, which I believe is the best way to positively impact the health and wellness of our community."

Wendy Morriarty brings over a decade of hospital administration and managed care experience to her role as the 'Ohana Health Plan market director for the Big Island.  As the market director, Ms. Morriarty provides oversight and leadership for Hawai`i Island's local provider network, provider relations team and community outreach program.

Ms. Morriarty is a resident of Kea'au, Hawai`i. She received a bachelor's degree in human biology from the State University of New York, Albany and a registered nurse degree from Samaritan Hospital in Troy, New York.  She also earned her Master of Public Health degree from the University of South Florida with a concentration in Health Care Management and Organizations.

"Having lived and practiced in Hawai'i for 19 years, I'm pleased to be part of a team dedicated to improving services to our most medically needy.  Medication needs are a crucial part of the care of our members and 'Ohana Health Plan must ensure the safe, effective and appropriate use of medicines as an integrated part of care."

Dr. Mar brings 40 years of health care experience and more than 20 years of managerial experience to 'Ohana Health Plan.  As director of clinical pharmacy, his responsibilities include formulary management, pharmacy network and medication management.

Prior to joining 'Ohana, Dr. Mar served in various clinical, teaching and managerial positions at Kaiser Permanente Hawaii; Intelligent Medicine, Inc.; CBS Electronic Medical Publishing; New York Hospital-Cornell University Medical Center; and Long Island University's College of Pharmacy.

Dr. Mar received his Bachelor of Science and Doctorate of Pharmacy degrees from the University of the Pacific.  He also holds a Master of Business Administration from Columbia University, and a post-doctoral fellowship certificate in medical informatics from the Stanford University School of Medicine and is licensed to practice pharmacy in Hawai'i.  He is a member of the Hawaii Pharmacists Association and the Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy.  He has also been a Special Olympics Hawai'i coach for 10 years.

As the Senior Director of Operations, Ms. Morrison provides oversight and direction for 'Ohana's Information Technology, Customer Service and Provider Relations teams. She also ensures operational delivery from all functional areas.

For the past 20 years, Ms. Morrison has worked in various customer service and operations roles. Prior to joining 'Ohana Health Plan, she worked at Sitel Corporation as a site director providing management oversight for a 500-position inbound customer care center.

I'm passionate about the area of Quality and ensuring patient safety for our members and that we provide care to meet their medical needs using evidence based clinical guidelines. "

In her current position, Ms. Lian-Segawa provides oversight of 'Ohana's quality management and quality improvement initiatives for the organization.  The main goal of this functional area is to ensure that accreditation standards are met and clinical guidelines are established to ensure quality of care to our members. She has oversight of 'Ohana's utilization management staff, and she most recently assumed oversight of 'Ohana's service coordination program, which includes more than 50 clinicians who are deployed throughout Hawai'i. thie group performs health and functional assessments as well as establishes care plans for our members.

Prior to joining 'Ohana, Ms. Lian-Segawa had her own consulting business that assisted hospitals with joint commission accreditation.   Prior to that, she served in various roles at several large Oahu hospitals and health plans as a patient safety officer, director of quality management, and director of utilization management. Ms. Lian-Segawa is also a licensed registered nurse.
