Growing up on Kaua'i, I have fond memories of playing in the taro patches, potluck dinners at auntie's house, and hiking the Sleeping Giant. Life was great. It wasn't until later that I realized how blessed I am to have been raised in Hawai'i. Our people, traditions and cultures each provide a special connection to our heritage. It is this heritage that shaped my life, character, and ethics. It is also what provided the foundation for all of my success.
When I first learned that I would be coming home to our beautiful Hawai'i, it was more than exciting - it was a dream come true. I have been given the opportunity to blend my years of health care experience with my love for Hawaii's people. Building a health plan for the Quest Expanded Access program means that I am able to give back to our people by touching the lives of our most vulnerable - our seniors and persons with disabilities.
I have also been given the opportunity to raise my children in Hawai'i where we still embrace the importance of family, respect, honor and dignity. As a child, I paid tribute to my heritage because it was what we were taught; what was expected. I expect the same from my family, and as a father, I hope to lead by example. I've been given the chance to give back to Hawai'i for all it has given me and look forward to seeing my family do the same, since this is our way.
At `Ohana, we recognize the important role we play in Hawaii's health and well-being. We understand Hawaii's culture and we value our people's heritage. We are proud of the opportunity to serve you.
Thank you for trusting `Ohana.
